Stuttering

Stuttering is a communication disorder that involves disruptions or dysfluencies in a person's speech. These disruptions may include repetitions, prolongations, or blocks. People who stutter also may experience physical tension in their speech muscles, as well as embarrassment, anxiety, and fear about speaking. Stuttering may begin in childhood or following damage to the brain.

Speech therapy can help people who stutter learn to speak more easily, and communicate more effectively, and feel more confident and comfortable about their speaking ability.
